Cyanotypes in class

Materials used

Potassium Ferricyamide 8%

Ammonium Ferric 20% solution

Equal Amounts were mixed.

The solution was painted on to cartridge paper thinly

This was left to dry in a dark drawer

The image was seclected and converted to A4 size

Use crop tool , put in measurements for A4 29.47cm x 21cm

Turn the picture into a negative (command I)

Put it on a memory stick
Print out on acetate

Trap acetate in between glass and board (hold together with tape)
Expose the whole thing to sunlight for 10-15 mins or when the paper is going slightly brown
Remove the Cyanotype print and wash under cold water until all yellow disappears.
soak in a dilute solution of peroxide to enhance and make the colour darker.
wash
dry
